About Osteopathy
Osteopathyis a science of human physiology and mechanics, employing a system of diagnosis and treatment of the person as a whole. The osteopath is most concerned with free motion and alignment of the body framework and its relationship to organ function, circulation, and the nervous system.
What is Cranial Osteopathy?
Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment. Specific gentle pressure is applied where necessary, to enable the inherent healing ability of the body to effect the release of stresses. It is extremely effective in treating a wide range of conditions in people of all ages, from birth to old age.
At the Melbourne Therapy Centre we specialise in cranial Osteopathy, with a special interest in paediatric Osteopathy. We all graduated from RMIT with honours, after completing a 5 year full time double degree majoring in Osteopathy and Clinical Science, (B.App.Sc (Clin.Sc.), B.Osteo.Sc).
Our clinic has a strong philosophy of continued learning with world leaders in this distinctive discipline. As Osteopaths we share knowledge and skills continuously, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.
Some of the reasons our patients visit our clinic include:
- pregnancy and birth problems – unsettled babies/reflux – breast feeding issues
- sleep difficulties – ear infections – childhood problems
- co-ordination difficulties – learning difficulties/ADHD – constipation/bedwetting
- back, neck and joint pain – headaches and migraines – digestive disorders
- period pain and irregularity – recurrent infection/sinusitis – asthma and chest complaints
- stress, depression and fatigue – general ill health
