Alexander Technique

What is it?

Alexander Technique integrates postural support, movement and breathing to optimise organisation of oneself in activity. Alexander Technique is an educational approach that enhances wellbeing and often brings about therapeutic outcomes. Using verbal instruction and gentle guided movement, the practitioner provides direction to refine coordination - whether to address adverse patterns of tension that are aggravating pain and injuries, or to enhance performance in sports and artistic endeavours.

Who can it help?

Some of the reasons our patients visit include:

  • wanting to improve efficiency in a given activity.

  • to reduce or manage persistent pain or recurrent injury.

  • musicians, dancers and athletes seeking to fully exercise their skill with minimum possible strain.
