Therapeutic Eurythmy

What is it?

Since ancient times humans have known the healing power of the Word. Eurythmy is a healing movement therapy that makes visible, by way of specific gestures, the spoken sounds and tones of language and music. It calls on the imagination and feeling life of the patient, engaging the individual in their own healing process. Using consonants, vowels and tones, as well as rhythms and forms - like those found in nature - the therapist helps restore harmony and health within the individual.

Eurythmy is perhaps the only Western movement therapy that consciously works with ‘chi’ or life force. It has been found to help individuals overcome and cope with their illnesses, giving them a better sense of who they are and what they want in their life.

This therapy works best when it’s regularly practised, so patients are asked to commit to 7 sessions. Adults 1 hour, children 1/2 hour.

Who can it help?

Some of the reasons our patients visit include:

  • physical - asthma, allergies, arthritis, blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, digestive disturbances, eye-problems, fatigue and sleeping issues

  • emotional - self-confidence, anger, fear and anxiety

  • children’s health - bedwetting, tics, learning difficulties, ADHD and autism

  • women’s health - menopause and menstruation problems

Therapeutic Eurythmy makes the patient more receptive to other therapies and medicines.
